Google News uses a computer program to organize online news
articles from more than 7000 different sources around the world--4500
in English. You can get a range of news articles that are largely
from or about other countries.
Want to browse today’s headlines?
The news pages are updated every 15 minutes and the articles
are initially presented grouped into topics based upon what
events are getting the most coverage. Therefore, with the exception
of some immediately breaking news, you can get very recent articles.
You can also conduct a search
Google retrieves articles based on words or phrases in both
headlines and the text of articles.
Some limitations
The articles you can get to through Google News are limited
to those posted on news websites. (Library databases have articles
that were originally in print form, as well as those that were
originally online).
Google News only indexes articles going back for 30 days.
