With Access World News, you can find articles that have been published
in newspapers in many countries. Also included are transcripts
of radio and TV news programs as well as articles
that originally appeared on news websites.
In most cases, Access World News clearly indicates the country
in which the newspaper/website is published or the broadcasting
station is located.
Want to find an article from a particular country or continent?
Access World News lets you click on a world map to find articles from that area of the world. Or you can search the entire world (but you may end up with a lot of articles from U.S. papers).
You can search by words or phrases that would appear in
the headline or first paragraph (lead) of an article on your
topic. (This will give you more relevant articles than if you choose to search "full text.")
You can choose to limit your results to articles published today, this week, the past year, etc.
Watch the slideshow
The company that provides this database produced a PowerPoint-type slideshow about how to use the "Basic Search" option. Watch the first three minutes or so to learn how to search by topic or issue. Play the slideshow .
