In the survey, 40% of respondents said that one reason they
sometimes don't follow international news is that events in
other parts of the world don't affect them. (They could cite
as many of the four reasons as they felt applied to them).
However, more people said they sometimes did not follow news
from around the world because they lacked the background information
to understand it.
