Expected Volume
Expected volume is based on a scale of four levels of anticipated or encouraged volume within a given space.
Level 1: Talking is discouraged in this area. Phone calls should be taken outside this space.
Level 2: Talking at a low volume takes place between individuals here. Potential users should expect a steady “buzz” of conversational tones.
Level 3: Collaborations and group work are the norms in this space. Elevated levels of conversation and technology noises are common.
Level 4: It is not uncommon for events or presentations to be taking place in this space. This is a space with a lot of activity and may be distracting to some.
