Budget Group Funding Request Process

Funding Requests may be submitted for any type of ‘one time’ expense (project, event, trip, etc.).

The expectation is that the requester has considered other funding sources such as RPC (Research and Publication Committee), Innovation Seed Grant, Marketing Grant, Assessment Grant, Scholars Travel, Unit Give/Endowment funds and other university level funding.

Before submitting a funding request, the requester should review their request with the Unit Head and AUL.

Process to submit requests:

  1. Employee uses the online web-tool – https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/1080419278
  2. Budget Group Chair (Asst Dean for Business and HR) will collect requests and add them to the Budget Group’s next meeting agenda.
  3. The Budget Group will review the funding request and advise the Dean on the following:
    1. If the request should be supported.
    2. At what level it should be supported.
    3. Provide the requestor with potential other funding resources.
  4. The Dean will make the final decision about support.
  5. The Budget Group chair will notify the employee/requestor about the status of their submission.
