The PIE (publish.illinois.edu) is a web publishing tool for all faculty, students, and staff to quickly and easily build a web site without resorting to off-campus services. It uses WordPress which is the largest blogging system in the world.
Illinois Compass is an enterprise learning management system powered by Blackboard’s Learn platform. It gives faculty, instructors, students, and others a collaborative online space with tools for managing course content.
IDEALS is UIUC’s institutional repository, available to all U of I faculty, staff, and students for storing and making accessible research, reports, old websites, and much more. Check out IDEALS’s documentation for more information on depositing items.
Use University of Illinois Box, Google Apps @ Illinois, Microsoft OneDrive, and Adobe to store, share, and collaborate on documents. These services offer a user-friendly web interface and enterprise security suitable for most files, including FERPA protected data (Box only). Image Database offers consistent, quality images for use in the promotion of the Illinois campus and programs.
Lynda.com offers training on leading software topics including Adobe, Apple, Microsoft products, and audio/video editing, etc.
Although their use is not mandatory, the University PowerPoint Templates help campus communicators create professional presentations that consistently represent the campus to internal and external audiences.

The U of I WebStore makes University site-license discounted software available to faculty, staff and students. It offers over 350 software titles for purchase or download.

Lync/Skype for Business is a software on your computer that handles your university phone services. As part of the Unified Communications system, Microsoft Lync offers telephone-like voice communications, instant messaging, video conferencing, contact management, and more.
Webtools is a free toolbox provided by the Web Services at UI Public Affairs. It helps a web developer create an online service without substantial programming knowledge. The toolbox includes form builders, event calendars, URL shortening and more.
The Illinois Wiki is an enterprise knowledge management system which allows users to add, modify, or delete content using a simplified markup language and/or a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor.
Available to Library Employees
Library Photostream is created and maintained via a library-wide Flickr Pro account. All images uploaded to this account can be used by any library faculty, staff, or student employee for purposes related to library facilities, resources, services, events or publicity.
Library Powerpoint Templates is a collection of PowerPoint templates specific to the University Library.

WebJunction Illinois is an online learning tool that Illinois library staff can use to learn about library management, technology and services. It is a service offered through OCLC and all courses are paid by the Illinois State Library.
Camtasia is video-based screen capture software for Windows PCs. Screen captures are recorded to a digital video format. Audio narration can be added to accompany the video. Camtasia can be used to create tutorials, demonstrations, web site tours, etc. aimed at either Library users or Library staff.
Desk Tracker is a web-based tool used to collect statistics by public service units during Library Sweeps weeks.
Informational Literacy Instructional Statistics is a tool for librarians to collect statistics of the information literacy classes and generate reports as needed.
Google Analytics is available for tracking website usage statistics of library departmental websites or specific webpages. Please submit a ticket to request access for a particular site or page.
Library Guides is a tool for librarians to create easily searchable and readable subject guides. Patrons can also located Library Guides through Primo and Easy Search.
Skype is a software application for Windows PCs that can be used to make free Internet-based phone and video calls to other computers with Skype installed on them. It can be installed on Library staff workstations (Windows only) for Skype-to-Skype communication about Library-related matters by request.
Bean Counter is a reporting system that is being developed by the Library IT for the University Library. Bean Counter can be used to generate reports from multiple Library databases, including Voyager, the Library’s Instructional Statistics, and Web logs, etc.
