Description of service
Easy Search is a search and discovery tool that allows users to simultaneously search multiple article databases and indexing and abstracting services. The default settings of Easy Search (Multi-subject Resources selected in the pull-down menu) includes general databases and resources that serve as a starting point to help users discover information about research topics. Easy Search is by no means intended to be comprehensive since information about topics can be found in multiple databases.
When is this service available
Easy Search is available at all times.
Priority level for this service
Maintaining Easy Search is a critical priority for the University Library. Every effort is made to resolve problems with this service as quickly as possible.
How to report a problem
To report general problems, questions or concerns about Easy Search, email enginlib@library.illinois.edu.
For serious problems with Easy Search, such as an unexpected outage, please contact the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center at 333-3576. Grainger Library staff will notify appropriate IT staff on call. (There is no response when Grainger Library is closed.)
Who can use this service
Easy Search searches and provides links to results from subscription-based library resources. Access to subscription-based library resources is restricted to University community members who have a valid NetID and NetID Password.

- Computer with an internet connection
- Web browser installed such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox
Service managers
Easy Search is powered by servers maintained by IT staff of the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center. The design and feature set of Easy Search is managed by the Library Web Content Group and the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center.
