About the Psychology Collection

The psychology collection in the Social Sciences, Health, and Education Library (SSHEL) supports the instruction and research of the Department of Psychology. These resources include materials in the areas of biological, clinical, developmental, experimental, personality/social, quantitative, organizational, and individual psychology. This collection was originally organized in the early 1900’s and is considered to be one of the finest in the state and region. Current, English-language books and journals in psychology are housed in the Social Sciences, Health, and Education Library (SSHEL). The majority of the estimated 120,000 volumes are located in the Main Stacks in the Main Library building or Oak Street Library.
