San Francisco Symphony Concert Continues University’s American Music Month Celebration November 15, 2013

Join the San Francisco Symphony, Michael Tilson Thomas, and guest soloist, Jeremy Denk, in an exciting performance of Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, Mackey’s Eating Greens, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 in C Major, and Copland’s Symphonic Ode.  Among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the world, the ensemble’s outstanding musicians, innovative programming, and emphasis on the works of American composers continues to bring new audiences to classical music.   The San Francisco Symphony’s Krannert Center program is emblematic of this philosophy, blending core classical repertoire with works by historic and contemporary American composers. The New York Times says that featured soloist Jeremy Denk “is a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs, in whatever combination—both for his penetrating intellectual engagement with the music and for the generosity of his playing.” For ticket information, contact Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at 217-333-6280 or visit http://www.krannertcenter.com/.
