The Sousa Archives and Center for American Music will celebrate John Philip Sousa’s 159th birthday on November 6, 2013 with a special birthday cookie and an afternoon of Sousa march recordings performed by the U.S. Marine Band. Our celebration honoring America’s “March King” will kick off at 1pm this Wednesday and will continue until the music runs out. Please stop by for a sweet treat and a quick tour of the Center’s new American Music Month exhibits.
