Christa Deacy-Quinn holds a M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois and a B.A. in Anthropology and Museum Studies from SUNY-Oswego. She has been in the museum field for twenty years, and has served as the Collections Manager at the Spurlock Museum at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign since 1991. When the new Spurlock facility was constructed, she designed storage spaces and directed the packing and transport of the collection. She has designed and installed more than a dozen permanent exhibits and over thirty temporary museum exhibits. She is active in the field of preservation, serving as a Peer Reviewer for the Museum Assessment Program for the American Association of Museums and is a member of the Preservation Working Group at the University of Illinois.
Meg Miner is the University Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. She works with a variety of campus constituencies to collect, preserve and make accessible the records that document the academic and organizational activities of IWU. As a member of the Ames Library’s Digital Initiatives team since 2006, Miner helps develop policies, conduct campus outreach and collect content for the library’s digital assets and the IWU institutional repository Digital Commons. She also is a team member of Digital Powrr, an initiative designed to assist smaller institutions in preserving digital materials.
Gaby Kienitz is the Head Conservator at the Indiana State Museum (ISMHS). Principally specialized and accredited in textile conservation, she received additional training through internships in Native American ethnographic objects, as well as, archaeological ceramics and glass. She has worked in labs throughout Canada, the US and Turkey over the past 20 years. She graduated from the University of Alberta.
Noraleen Young serves as the staff archivist for Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity. Noraleen received her B.A. in American History/American Studies in 1983 and a Master in Library Science in 1984 from the University of Michigan, concentrating in special libraries and archives. In 1992, she completed her M.A. in Public History at Indiana University at Indianapolis. From 1984 to 1991, Noraleen was a Reference Librarian at the Indiana State Library, Indiana Division where she provided reference services, worked in manuscripts and developed exhibits and programs. In 1991, she began her own consulting business, Past to Present, and works for several clients including Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity. Noraleen has a particular interest in the important role of non-profit groups and their contributions to society over the years. She has worked with Girl Scouts U.S.A at the national level, developing and presenting workshops on maintaining local Girl Scout history collections. Noraleen is a Certified Archivist.
Angela M. Waarala is the Digital Collections Project Manager in Digital Content Creation at the University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Among her responsibilities is the design and coordination of local digitization projects and she provides support to departmental units and librarians in the imaging, digitization, and preservation of special collections. Angela holds a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from UIUC and is currently a student at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at UIUC.
