How to rename:
- Open Advanced Renamer and change whether you would like to rename files or folders.
- Add a method in the “Renaming method list.” Some common methods we use is “remove”, “renumber”, “replace” and “add”; although you may use other methods.
- You can change where you would like the renaming method to apply.
- As an example, here is what it will look like when you remove BidIDs from file names.
- Add the files by dragging and dropping them into Advanced Renamer.
- A sample of the new file names will be displayed and you can adjust the “remove count” to reflect where you would like to begin removing information from the file name.
- You can stack several “methods”!
- Once you are happy with the new filename, click “Start Batch” to rename the files!
