New IAS Library

The International and Area Studies Library will open in 321 Library on August 22, 2011. This new unit will bring together the former Asian, Africana, and Slavic & East European libraries (all of which will close to the public on August 5), as well as Library service programs in Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Global Studies, European Union Studies, and related areas. The IAS Library will be the Library’s gateway to information and scholarship related to area, international, and global studies, connecting students and scholars to the knowledge crucial to developing global competencies through the study of distinct nations and regions, as well as transnational issues and global concerns. The IAS Library will enhance opportunities for collaboration and coordination among the Library’s area and international studies specialists and will provide a single, physical service point and Web presence for Library users whose needs span multiple regions of the world. More information will soon be available on the IAS Library website, which will become available by August 22.

The International and Area Studies Library was developed as part of the Library’s New Service Models initiative. If you have any questions about the IAS Library, please contact Scott Walter , Associate University Librarian for Services, Associate Dean of Libraries, and Acting Head, International & Area Studies Library.
