In addition to the Library Catalog and the I-Share catalog, several other resources are available for your use. The University’s Find Online Journals & Databases provides links to a variety of commercially produced journal article indexes (such as MathSciNet). The Mathematics Library also maintains a few special databases and lists of its own, specifically: a database of new books acquired since 1999, a listing of Current Journals of Interest to Mathematicians (searchable by full or abbreviated journal title as well as by publisher), a database of uncataloged items owned by the Mathematics Library, and a list of mathematics reference books available in the Mathematics Library.

In order to locate specific journal articles, you will need to use a journal article index. For mathematicians and statisticians, the most important databases are MathSciNet and Zentralblatt MATH. In the Mathematics Library, MathSciNet is the most frequently used of any of the article databases. It includes all items reviewed in print publications Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications, and its contents date back to 1940, making it an especially valuable resource for locating older publications.
