Welcome to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign Latin American and Caribbean Studies Collection and thank you for visiting our website!
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign boasts one of the premier library systems in the world. With over 14 million holdings, it is the largest public academic library in the United States and the third largest library in the country, surpassed in volume only by the Library of Congress and Harvard University Libraries. The Latin American and Caribbean Studies collection at Illinois is also considered to be one of the strongest in the nation. With more than 1 million volumes and close to 300 serials from Latin America in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Quechua and several other indigenous and European languages, our collection ranks in the top five collections nationwide and is the largest in the Midwest.
We encourage you to browse our website to learn more about us, our services, and our wonderful collection. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like more information!
