The Preservation Services Unit within the University Library seeks a part-time student (graduate or undergraduate) to work in support of the Head of Preservation Services.

- Hours/Pay: Anticipated 10 hours per week at $12 per hour
- Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direct supervision of the Head of Preservation Services, this position assists in the administrative responsibilities of the unit.
- Tracking unit statistics on repairs and preservation treatments
- Assisting with report writing
- Assisting with budget and wage tracking
- Assisting with web content development and editing after unit website migration
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with workshops and outreach
- Assisting with grant writing and development
- Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work a set schedule of 10 hours between the operating hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at The University of Illinois.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience or interest in the field of preservation and/or conservation of library materials; Experience with Microsoft Excel; Experience with WordPress or other web design software; Grant writing experience
