I-Share and Interlibrary loan are services that can help you get the materials you are looking for if they are unavailable at the University Library. Both services are free!
I-Share (use this service first, before Interlibrary Loan)
- Use I-Share if material at this campus is unavailable
- I-Share provides access to 70+ Libraries across Illinois
- You can have materials sent to you at any library location on campus (for example, the Communications library)
- You can place your requests online

- To search the I-Share catalog you can use the pull down menu box in the VuFind catalog and request I-share libraries. Or you can use this link: I-Share

Interlibrary Loan (use only after searching the University Library Catalog and I-Share)
- Use Interlibrary Loan if materials are unavailable at U of I or via I-Share
- Interlibrary Loan provides access to materials from libraries from all over the world
- Worldcat is the catalog for Interlibrary Loan
- The pick-up location is the Main Library Circulation Desk. Faculty may have books sent to them via campus mail. Journal articles are delivered electronically or via campus mail
