The 1951 Anniversary Conference produced books, correspondence, and film reels. The Conference Committee’s records were collected and filed at the ALA Archives in the ALA Headquarters Library. Like the 1926 Anniversary Conference, the Committee set a new precedent in celebrating the history of the ALA and American Librarianship. 1951 Anniversary events focused on the current status of librarianship in the United States. Also like the previous conference, the Committee enjoyed the benefit of an attractively bound, extant collection of historical materials, the 1876 Scrapbook, and the discussion of ALA history.
As a centrally organized event with many nation-wide contributions, archival holdings for the 1951 Conference can be found in many archives or libraries across the country.
